Our official Grand Opening is Thursday, February 25th, 2010 6:00 - 9:30 pm (in conjunction with the Wonder Craft) We carry an extensive array of semi-precious and natural gemstones, Swarovski crystals, seed beads, sterling silver, gold-filled and copper wire, chain and findings. We have fun and crafty beads in glass, ceramic, acrylic, and base metal. We also carry a wide assortment of beading supplies and necessities including Bead Smith tools and Soft Flex beading wire. In addition, we offer custom-crafted finished jewelry and unique gift items which are available in our storefront as well as on our online gallery at www.LapisLaneBeads.com We will be holding drawings for great prizes during our Grand Opening - but you must be present to win - so please come help us celebrate! We look forward to seeing you at our Grand Opening! Class Information! Our first class offering - Beading Basics - will be on Tuesday, February 16th, 7:00 - 8:30 pm. $50 class fee includes ALL materials (yes, all beads, findings, stringing and finishing materials!) The focus of this class is to teach you about the fundamental techniques and the basic tools you will need to create a pair of interchangeable earrings and a beaded necklace with a sterling silver toggle clasp. With the basic beading knowledge and skills learned in class, the necklace and earrings you create will serve as a "template" as you continue to make more of your very own custom-crafted jewelry. Upcoming Venues! March 4, 2010 - 1st Thursday on South Congress Avenue - Courtyard at Guero's Taco Bar, 1415 South Congress. April 1, 2010 - We will not be participating in the April, 1st Thursday on South Congress, with family coming to town for Easter Weekend. We wish everyone a wonderful and peaceful Easter! May 1-2, 2010 - Lapis Lane will present "The Rasha Collection" at the Old Pecan Street Arts Festival on 6th Street in Downtown Austin.

Rasha Proctor ~ The Rasha Collection
Rasha's passion for art and love for adventure have inspired this unique collection of jewelry. In wandering the continents, Rasha has discovered beauty beyond description tucked away in the Mountains of Nepal, coves of Cambodia and desert of Egypt.
Rasha grew up in Egypt and around the Mediterranean region, moved to NYC to attend engineering school at City University of New York. Soon after graduation, she moved to Austin, Texas, where she discovered her love for Yoga and silversmith. In the last 10 years, Rasha has traveled the world, learning, watching, and marveling at each country's uniqueness. Destiny lead her to Japan, India, Nepal, Indonesia, Malaysia Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Egypt, Spain, Netherlands, Denmark, and Switzerland. She has lived and worked in some countries, while in others she was an explorere of their native culture and art. Studying, practicing and teaching Yoga has opened her heart and mind to exploring her love for semi-precious stones and silversmith. After years of struggle between the Corporate world and her free spirit, Rasha has decided to listen to her heart by teaching Yoga, spreading the Buddah Dharma and sharing her unique finding and jewelry with the world.
